The Problem with the Law of Attraction - Excerpt from TSOGRM

Another problem with the LOA is that it is a distraction from reality. In other words, people believe they are onto something that will change their current reality when it will not. It is a false hope. There is no sense in wasting lots of emotion and angst if you are not where you want to be. It is better to embrace the current state of things good, bad or indifferent as they are and begin taking action to change things. Fighting reality, distorting reality, not accepting reality and the avoidance of doing what needs to be done is a sign of immaturity and an unevolved person. Acceptance of the current reality and beginning to do what needs to be done is a sign of maturity and an evolved person. If you are broke you are broke and you need to start working at something that will solve this problem. If you are single and want to be in a relationship, you are single and you need to begin mingling with other single people and working toward...

Two Universal Truths

There are a few ideas that I consider universal truths, that is they apply to everyone all the time.   In business two that come to mind are. 1. Skills pay the bills and 2. Cash is king.   The reality is few people care where you went to school, they want to know you have the skill to help them fix a problem or improve their life. Can you mow my lawn, can you sell my house, can you fix this leak, teach these kids English, handle the operation I need, balance my books on time?   Greater skills lead to greater income and track record matters.   Focus your time on developing skills and track record.   When you add in some savvy marketing, the world will open up for you.   The second universal truth is cash is king.   Regardless of what you invest in, you will need it to produce cash when you need it.   Bills and services are paid in cash.   It doesn’t matter if you own a business, invest in crypto, real estate or stocks, when emergencies happen ...

Summary of the Science of Getting Rich

A quick summary of The Science of Getting Rich, the greatest mindset book written.  Find it in the public domain and get a copy of Manifestation Power to implement these powerful teachings. The book is practical, while there is theory behind it, the idea is to use the ideas to get rich. You have a right to be rich, there is no reason to feel guilty in doing so and nothing in the world wants you to be poor. Riches are needed for a full life which is to nourish your mind, body and soul. Getting rich is the result of the way you do things and not your environment or the vocation you choose. There is no shortage of opportunity, do not think of lack. Thoughts are extremely powerful, for riches to come to you, they must first be in your thoughts. A person’s way of acting is a result of their thoughts, so think ...

Notes Based Time Management

There has been some discussion on the various time management groups and forums to-do-lists and their effectiveness and necessity. This is not the first time the topic has come up and without tackling the debate about the necessity or pros and cons of the to-do-list. I wanted to see if there was a simple way to manage ones life while avoiding the to-do-list. Obviously if you have a great memory you do not need to be concerned with this issues. I have outlined a method below a paper based method which accomplishes this and appeal to those right brained people inclined to take a more creative look at organization or those other just sick of list writing. The method is called notes based time management or NBTM since we all productivity authors need to have acronyms for our systems. The method is actually quite simple. You start with a notebook of choice and simply start taking good notes. So, as you have a meeting or a phone call you start taking notes on the meeting. This does not need ...

Wallace Wattles - Was he Misunderstood?

Poor Wallace Wattles. Who is Wallace Wattles? He was the author of a little book written in 1910 called the Science of Getting Rich. This is the book Rhonda Byrne stumbled upon and used as the inspiration for the Secret. The only problem is she did not focus on the most important part - action. Chapter 12 on the Science of Getting Rich is entitled Efficient Action. This is a major key to achievement. I encourage you to Google the author and find the book on the Internet. It is in the public domain and is available for free. Yes the "Secret" is free. The author of the Secret probably ignored the most important part of Wattle’s great work, because the masses are not interested in action and can’t be sold it. With the action part removed, the Secret became a great marketing idea to get people believing that they could have it all with no effort and it sold like crazy. Another problem with the LOA is that it is distraction from reality. In other words, people believe they are on ...

Think About Time Management - Matrix

We are all familiar with Stephen Covey’s famous time management quadrants. I have a new twist on this concept based upon the importance of tasks to the parties involved in them. Whether we realize it or not, every task we do has an impact on both us and other parties. Obvious examples like paying someone we owe money too impacts both parties. However, even a task like learning a new language impacts others. Why, because if you commit to learn French, you are taking time away from family members who may miss your company and find the relationship devalued as you spend less time with them. The matrix below defines tasks simply based upon the importance of the task to the parties involved.                                            Important to Me           ...
